My interest in art started as a child, drawing and scribbling on bits of cardboard from the biscuit tins in the grocery store which my Dad managed. That was over 80 years ago and I have, over the years, developed from scribbles to a whole range of styles, using different materials - acrylic, oil, pen and ink and watercolour which, these days, is my preferred medium. I have found inspiration from my travels, both in New Zealand and overseas.
I rarely travel without my trusty seat and pack containing my painting gear. Even tramping, room is always made for my compact Winsor and Newton Field Pocket Set, together with a postcard size sketch pad. Sketches are made, colours recorded and photos taken for reference, to be interpreted back in my studio to larger paintings.
